School: SRI Literacy Education

Currently there is not a strong system in place to teach early literacy to children in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic. These funds will be used for Scholastic Reading Curriculum in Spanish to help students read at or above grade level, thus increasing their chances at thriving in school and giving them confidence to thrive in their communities. The students, who frequently share their knowledge with their families, will have the chance to teach their family members to read as well, thus beginning a ripple effect of education and renewed sense of hope.
