Solid Rock International

My First Full Month

I am thankful today for all that God has blessed me with. As I am writing this, I am sitting at the beach thinking back to the last two months.  God has been teaching me a lot. I am having a lot of fun. From the end of August to the beginning of September, I was able to spend 5 weeks in the states before officially joining the SRI ministry staff. While in the states, I was able to spend time with family and friends. It was great to reconnect with everyone. I was even able to help my brother move into his dorm at college, I traveled to Indiana too and was able to visit some of my best friends,  and I went fishing with my family.

Although that may not seem like much, I am very thankful for those five weeks at home.

After returning to the DR in September, our team hit the ground running with three weeks of teams. One thing I love about what I do is hearing the daily updates from the teams and how they were able to minister to the people of our community. I love to hear how they were able to spread Jesus’s love, how surgeries went, how they were able to see hundreds of patients in a day, pour a concrete floor for a family who had a dirt floor, the stories are endless. I am thankful that I get to be apart of it.

I have also spent the last few weeks seeing the countryside, going to the beach with friends, trying new foods, learning how to play dominos, visiting new places, and holding Brantley. Flat Stanley also came to the guesthouse for a visit. This past Sunday I was even able to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks:

Another added bonus to my month was that Northwoods Community Church came for a week of service. It was good to see some friends from past trips, as well as having part of home here.
